VOLUNTEER

To become a Boys & Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley Volunteer we are required by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to submit a volunteer application and complete a full background screening. 

There are several ways you can volunteer time at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley:

Youth Sports Volunteer - Volunteer to coach any of our BGCKV  youth soccer, softball or lacrosse teams.

Senior luncheon volunteers - Volunteer to help prepare and serve meals for our senior citizen program. They have luncheons on the 1st Tuesday of each month and on special holidays.

Reading Champion for Blossom Early Learning Programs- Early childhood program infants through  kindergarten classrooms participate in a literacy program. We invite donors, authors and community members to come in and read a book (or two) to our classrooms. We provide the books, but,  you are more than welcome to share your favorite children's book with us. If you would like to come in to be a part of our literacy program please contact Amanda Chapman at achapman@bgckv.org or call 582-8458. 

Share Your Skills (Cooking, Sewing, Dance, Music, Art, Etc.) - Our Clubs love when there are community members who have special skills that are willing to share their craft with our Club kids. This is open to all ages. If you have a skill you would like to share with our Club kids, please contact Nicole Cooley at ncooley@bgckv.org.

Mentors - We are seeking volunteers who would be interested in weekly visits to kids who need a little extra TLC.

Development Events Committee: The Club’s Events committee supports the resource development director and assists with putting on two events a year, our Easter Basket Event in the Spring and our Donor Appreciation breakfast in the late fall. If you have interest in joining this committee please reach out to Nicole Cooley ncooley@bgckv.org.

* Volunteering at our Clubs can be a one time activity or an ongoing commitment based on your availability.
